Royal College of Music

Royal College of Music

This £24m scheme included the demolition, refurbishment, alteration and new build (including basement works) within the live, prestigious Grade II listed building.

Our work was centred on a new external Quad at ground level, accessed from an enlarged Entrance Hall and a new triple-height foyer. The work has included two new multi-functional performance venues; a new home for the Museum of Music, new communal spaces for audiences with cafe-bar and restaurant facilities, as well as new digital recording studio facilities and additional practice and teaching rooms for the College.

The Royal College of Music, based in one of London’s most desirable areas, is one of the world’s great conservatoires, training gifted musicians from all over the world for international careers as performers, conductors and composers. It’s collection of buildings are located on an extremely constrained site in South Kensington.
