As lead consultants to the Forest of Dean District Council and English Partnerships we are producing a masterplan and design code for an urban extension in Cinderford, Gloucestershire.
We are working with Urban Practitioners, who are providing an area action plan and ERM, who are providing a sustainability appraisal.
The Cinderford site is varied and interesting, being partly forest, partly an open cast mine. The mine contains a large lake, former mining buildings, a functioning garage and a brickworks. The floodplain, large spoil heaps and ecological protection areas make this a hugely challenging and exciting site.
Our masterplan could provide housing, employment land, a further education college, and a hotel overlooking the lake, all with good walking and cycling links through to the Forest of Dean and Cinderford town centre.
