Network Rail’s brief calls for the creation of a world class station, recognising that Temple Meads requires major improvements to its two Grade I listed station buildings and their setting to meet forecast passenger growth.
Our Conservation and Asset Management Strategy and development Masterplan, bring together our engineering, conservation and urban design expertise. Developed in close collaboration with Bristol City Council, the HCA and English Heritage, a wide range of alternative solutions have been considered.
Our masterplan reconnects the station with the city, delivering new station entrances, platforms and concourse, and bringing Brunel’s original station buildings back into full use. The reconfigured station will be set within a network of high quality civic spaces and new commercial development and will form part of a legible public transport interchange.
