Faraday Works

Faraday Works

This exemplar heritage-led scheme includes 492 new homes, retail and employment spaces, focused on a series of highly significant early 20th century reinforced concrete industrial buildings.

This site includes a collection of derelict 19th and early 20th Century factory buildings. The concrete-framed 37 Bowater Road features Kahn Trussed Bars, a precursor to modern reinforcement, and recently became Grade II listed.

Our structural engineering work safeguards the future of the listed and locally listed buildings through a series of contemporary interpretations and conversions to create workshop spaces, cafes, exhibition areas and a new business incubator, plus public realm that embraces Bowater Road’s new focus as a key route along the Thames Path.
