Senior Professional

Charlotte joined us in 2021, having previously worked for another engineering practice during her year-in-industry placement while at University.

Charlotte’s work with existing historic buildings has required research into a building’s structural arrangement and a detailed understanding of the materials and forms of construction used when they were constructed. This has been particularly the case with her work at Victoria Tower, exploring the use and specification of modern cast iron for repairs.

Many of Charlotte’s projects have had constraints and require challenging problem solving to develop a sympathetic and sustainable design solution which works with the building and which seeks to mitigate the impact on the building’s users while the works can progress.

Elsewhere, Charlotte has worked on a variety of projects including the refurbishment and assessment of both historic and modern buildings. These range from small private dwellings to nationally important buildings. She has worked on the refurbishment of many listed Victorian and Georgian buildings and in doing so has developed a detailed understanding of how they were originally built.

Through her work, Charlotte has been involved in engaging with public stakeholders and other members of the design team including working closely with other design teams on adjacent projects to ensure an efficient and coordinated design.
