Raihan brings considerable expertise to new builds, complex refurbishments, and particularly historic listed buildings.
His work includes residential, office, commercial, education, leisure, hotels, theatres, and public institution buildings, where he has demonstrated particular proficiency working with major cultural institutions, having led teams on refurbishment projects such as the Selfridges building on Oxford Street, where he contributed to long-term strategic development of this large and complex site. He has also overseen projects at the Grade I and II listed Architectural Association properties on Bedford Square for over a decade as part of a phased masterplan to enhance educational facilities.
His notable heritage projects include the Grade I listed Orangery at Kensington Palace, where he managed a major conservation project that restored the building and added new collections stores, offices and kitchens, transforming it into a restaurant with a new single-storey extension. He also provided structural engineering for the Grade II* Danish Church in London, developing strategies for stonework repairs including replacing corroded wrought iron bands in the spires, and is currently working on the major refurbishment of the Grade II* listed Ipswich Museum complex.
His new-build experience includes Express Wharf’s two residential towers of 21 and 12 storeys alongside the River Thames, and the Staffordshire History Centre, a 3000m² facility featuring Glulam frame construction with CLT roof.
Raihan has particular professional interest in integrating building services strategies into structural design, exemplified by incorporating Thermally Active Building Systems into concrete floor structures at Dulwich College’s science building. He also serves as our focus for the Building Safety Act and Higher Risk Buildings, demonstrating his engagement with contemporary regulatory frameworks.
