Director
Trenton leads the transport and movement team within our urbanism group. He is passionate about creating vibrant, inclusive, people-centred places and promoting sustainable mobility.
With a background in civil engineering and integrated land use and transport planning, he has over twenty years’ experience dealing with the movement issues that shape the places we live in.
Trenton creates movement strategies for urban regeneration schemes, masterplans and neighbourhood plans, he designs public realm, streetscape and interchange improvements, and prepares detailed transport assessments, travel plans and design codes for new developments.
He often helps facilitate hands-on collaborative design activities, guiding stakeholder and community groups to explore innovative ways of improving places and streets together.
His work encompasses thinking at a range of scales—from the renewal of large urban areas to the fine grain improvement of local streets, from the creation of sustainable communities to the sensitive integration of new and historic buildings into the urban fabric.
Trenton’s broad experience covers both public and private sectors. His work includes dealing with areas where new transport infrastructure is catalysing rapid growth as well as struggling places in need of revitalisation. This frequently involves rebalancing the function of busy traffic thoroughfares to create more human-focused environments.
