Burghley House
Burghley House
A Grade I building dating from the Elizabethan era, Burghley House is one of the most notable stately homes in Britain. We were the structural engineers for a long-term programme of repairs that included reconstruction of the roof structures to re-support the invaluable frescoed ceilings, replacement of the lead roof and strengthening the 6m-high stone chimneys. There were also floor stiffening works, and general repairs carried out to the basic fabric. We also carried out a structural assessment for the Lion Bridge across the lake.
