HS2 - Engineering and Conservation advice

We have had a long association with the HS2 project as both structural engineers and heritage consultants. We were first appointed for consultancy on a track site in North Solihull in 2012, before producing gazetteers for the listed structures affected by the tunnels between Euston and West Ruislip in 2013.

Our main body of work began in earnest in 2018 following our appointment on the Euston enabling works where we advised on the potential impact of works on the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Since 2020, we have since worked progressively on assessing in more detail the impact of the tunnels along the track from Euston on behalf of SCS Railways (Skanska, Costain STRABAG) - the appointed contractor for the section of the new line that runs within tunnels beneath London. This has involved engineering and conservation advice on the Camden Winding Vaults; appraising the site of the Regent’s Park Barracks; two pubs (the Edinboro Castle and York & Albany); the ‘Tin Tabernacle’ (a type of 19th century pre-fab church) in Kilburn and Kensal Green Cemetery. We were also asked to appraise non-designated heritage assets on the line between Euston and Uxbridge.
