Southmoor Road, Oxford
Southmoor Road, Oxford
We provided engineering advice to convert a former builders’ yard into a new private residential development.
This site in Oxford was purchased with the intention to convert it into private residential use. The existing buildings on the site were comprised of a four-storey Victorian semi-detached house on Southmoor Road; an L-shaped office building at the yard’s entrance; and a single-storey workshop on the boundary of the site Victorian joinery workshop.
Within the former yard, we advised on the refurbishment of a Victorian workshop adjacent to the Oxford Canal, the construction of two new houses, and the alterations to the existing semi-detached house on Southmoor Road. The scheme totals 2,000sq ft across four storeys (a rare occurrence in this conservation area), with a private walled garden at the rear of the house.
The project is due for completion in 2025.
