Our Approach

We believe that a holistic approach creates better buildings and healthier places to live and work.

While engineering remains at the heart of our work, we have grown into a design consultancy working across all aspects of the built environment. We are committed to a close collaboration between creative design professionals and our clients to resolve the wider issues of cities, urbanism, conservation and their relationship with the design of our surroundings.

Our civil and structural engineers, urban designers, and conservation specialists collaborate every day, distilling our breadth of knowledge, imaginative ideas and the ability to weave these strands together to create valuable, holistic and sustainable solutions.

Sustainability is a central part of our philosophy and we design places and streets that prioritise sustainable movement. We hold long-established values that champion the reuse of existing structures, the use of high-quality new materials and the adaptability of structural designs to future uses. We are members of The Engineers Reuse Collective, a not-for-profit group of practising engineers championing, accelerating and delivering reuse in the built environment, and our dedicated Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our carbon footprint and our commitment to achieving Net Zero practice emissions by 2050 or sooner.

Clients

The diverse range of our work is matched by the variety of our clients.

We work for companies, charities and individuals, for major museums and galleries, government departments, churches, and local councils.

Our independence enables us to tailor our response to the needs of each client and form lasting relationships, demonstrated by repeat-term commissions with clients that include the Palace of Westminster, St Paul’s Cathedral and the British Museum.
