Clare is an experienced masterplanner and chartered landscape architect who leads our urban design team.
Over 25 years she has delivered high quality, contextually-led masterplans and design guidance for a wide range of urban and rural environments. Her clients include local planning authorities, landowners, charitable organisations and cultural institutions.
She is an experienced facilitator of community and stakeholder consultation using hands-on engagement techniques and a clear, jargon-free presentation style. Clare is an Academician of the Academy of Urbanism.
Clare’s work with landowners ranges from strategic advice on site promotion and state-wide visioning, through to the preparation of outline planning applications and expert witness. Recent clients include Leverhulme Estates Ltd, Zurich Assurance Ltd and the Woodhall Estate.
For Local Planning Authorities including Cherwell District Council, Enfield Borough Council and Buckinghamshire Council, Clare has prepared masterplans, supplementary planning documents, neighbourhoods plans and action action plans underpinned by comprehensive contextual analysis and design strategies. She works collaboratively with Council officers as an extension to the in-house expertise.
Many of Clare’s projects are within historic environments and developed in collaboration with our conservation team. She led the masterplan and Neighbourhood Plan for York Minster’s Precinct which was awarded the RTPI regional award for best practice.
Other areas of Clare’s work includes her input to station masterplans for Bristol Temple Meads and London Victoria, masterplans for garden communities including Aylesbury Garden Town, and town centre regeneration including preparation of the successful Future High Streets business case and masterplan for Grantham.
