Jim brings 40 years of engineering expertise to his work and is responsible for many of our architectural engineering projects. He has extensive experience of a wide range of building types, from public to commercial and from new builds to refurbishments. In particular, his work has included new healthcare facilities and further education projects. Other transformative projects for public and cultural buildings have included the major renewal of St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry, the Hull Truck Theatre, Hull History Centre, and the extension and refurbishment of the Young V&A.

His work has included the state-of-the-art cancer treatment centre on a highly constrained site in London; the Said Business School at Oxford University and the New Academic Building for the London School of Economics. Previous education projects have included new Business Schools for the London Business School and City University, as well as a new building for the European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences for the University of Surrey. Jim also advises the engineering team for our term commission at the Whitehall Estate, including Downing Street and the Cabinet Office Building.

Jim also co-authored our reports for RBKC and WCC Planning departments on the construction of residential basements. He has been involved in the design of a number of large commercial basement projects as well as residential basements in many parts of London.
