Senior Professional
Joe works across a range of building typologies and has overseen many successful listed building consent and planning applications.
His work has ranged from advising on complex refurbishments and alterations to listed buildings within challenging, constrained sites; to undertaking historic studies that establish the history and significance of large sites in the context of proposed development.
He has developed a particular specialism for cultural and civic projects, having provided heritage advice for projects at the London Museum Docklands (Grade I); the Electric Cinema on Portobello Road (Grade II*); the Royal College of Art in Kensington (Grade II); and Stratford’s Old Town Hall and former Court House complex (Grade II). Outside of London, he has advised on the refurbishment of The Priory (community) Centre in St Neots, Cambridgeshire and the conversion of a seventeenth-century barn in Essex into a proposed community centre.
He is an Affiliate member of the Institute for Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), as well as ‘Don’t Waste Buildings’ - a campaign group advocating to reduce embodied carbon in the built environment. He is also a member of Club Peloton - a real estate network that uses cycling as a platform for charitable fundraising and served as an assessor for the 2025 Civic Trust Awards.
Prior to joining us, Joe worked in marketing and business development for a number of established architecture practices.
