Fred brings over 16 years of structural engineering expertise, from Grade I listed public buildings to large new commercial buildings and infrastructure schemes.

His work spans various sectors, with extensive experience in sensitive refurbishments, alterations, extensions, fit-outs, and repairs of significant buildings, some of which with national and international importance. He remains involved throughout scheme durations and is a creative designer and strategic thinker, capable of simplifying complex issues and effectively communicating them. In addition to his project work, Fred leads our in-house learning programme and oversees the firm’s approach to sustainability.

Fred has delivered many award-winning schemes such as St Albans New Museum + Gallery, The Longwall Library at Magdalen College Library and the RIBA Stirling Prize-winning Newport Street Gallery.

Other notable projects include the £800M redevelopment and structural masterplan of London Bridge Station, the electrification of the Great Western Mainline, 19 story offices at Snow Hill and flexible co-working at Pembroke Warehouse in London, Hornchurch High School and the refurbishment of the Royal Liberty School in Romford. In 2021 Fred completed the Museum of the Home, which transformed the Grade I listed Museum. He has delivered a range of projects over the last 10 years at the British Museum, from the Hotung Gallery, White Wing Islamic Galleries, and delivered the masterplan and the £100m decarbonisation project curresntly being realised on site.

At the University of Greenwich, he has overseen our work on the significant refurbishment and extension of the Dreadnought Building in Greenwich as well as converting one of the University’s buildings on the Medway Campus into a student hub.

More recently he has been overseeing refurbishment works at the Royal Naval College, and the major £90m new Business School for the University. In the leisure sector he has designed an extension to the London Fields Lido, and overseen our work for the £55m refurbishment and extension of Kings Hall Leisure Centre.
