Director
Fred joined us in 2008 and brings over 15 years of structural engineering expertise, from Grade I listed public buildings to large new commercial buildings and infrastructure schemes.
His work transcends sectors and he has extensive experience in sensitive refurbishments, alterations, extensions, fit outs and repair of existing buildings, many of which are of national and international importance and remain occupied throughout the duration of the works.
He is a creative designer and strategic thinker who is able to break down complex issues in a non-technical way, as well as a good communicator. In addition to his project work, Fred leads our in-house learning programme and oversees the firm’s approach to sustainability.
Fred has delivered many award-winning schemes such as St Albans New Museum + Gallery, The Longwall Library at Magdalen College Library and the RIBA Stirling Prize-winning Newport Street Gallery. Other notable projects include the £800M redevelopment and structural masterplan of London Bridge Station, Hornchurch High School and the refurbishment of the Royal Liberty School in Romford.
Fred completed the Museum of the Home, which transformed the Grade I listed Museum and he is continuing to work with the British Museum on a series of projects to reinvigorate and rationalise their galleries and upgrade their site wide mechanical and electrical servicing.
At the University of Greenwich he has overseen our work on the significant refurbishment and extension of the Dreadnought Building in Greenwich as well as converting one of the University’s buildings on the Medway Campus into a student hub.
