Luke has experience on a wide variety of refurbishment and new build projects of a varying scale and type. Since joining us, he has worked on numerous high-profile listed buildings and historic structures.

With a passion for historic buildings, his recent work includes the refurbishment and repair of Grade I and II* listed buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments and work within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Luke is motivated by a drive for conserving and celebrating historic structures, while carrying out sympathetic structural repairs and alterations which allow them to meet modern requirements.

Luke’s knowledge of building history and a strong interest in exploring the interface between engineering and architecture, has enabled him to develop creative solutions and design sensitive alterations to challenging projects within several historic buildings in the culture sector.

His experience at the British Museum, Tate Britain and Tilbury Riverside Station has involved carrying out structural appraisals of a variety of construction types of existing structures, identifying defects, their causes, and designing strategies for their remediation. Thus far has provided him with an appreciation of numerous forms of construction

He is currently working on the complex refurbishment of Grade II listed Queen’s Building, at Queen Mary University London, carrying out an appraisal of the existing structure and designing an atrium infill structure over an existing courtyard which will form the heart of the University’s main campus.

He is also working on designing a new Business School for the University of Greenwich at Devonport House, which will involve the refurbishment of the existing 1930s structure and creation of a new extension, navigating complex engineering constraints at this World Heritage Site.
