MEng MIStructE

Senior Professional

Paul has worked on a range of projects in the private sector including the refurbishment and assessment of both historic and modern buildings.

Over the last 10 years, Paul has gained detailed knowledge of the Palace of Westminster and the outbuildings, together with an understanding of the stakeholders and the unique constraints and challenges that exist when working on such a symbolic Grade I listed building, within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Most recently, he has led our input on the appraisal and repairs to the New Palace Yard Underground car park. Here, his expertise in historic concrete structures has enabled a carefully targeted series of repair proposals to be developed.

Paul led our input at St Bartholomew’s hospital where the condition of the original Georgian Hospital buildings and the Henry VIII Gatehouse were extensively reviewed. With a series of investigations and repairs undertaken to remediate the problems identified with embedded ironwork in the stone facades. A thoughtful, light touch approach to the repairs was undertaken to limit the interventions into the original building fabric.

Paul is also our technical focus on cast iron and masonry and plays an active part in our training programme, helping in the development and training of younger engineers and graduates.
