Aldersbrook Conservation Area and Lake House Estate Appraisal
Working on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge, we authored a, now-adopted, conservation area appraisal and dedicated design guide for the local community of Aldersbrook who own and care for the buildings within the Aldersbrook Conservation Area. We were asked to provide advice on how to conserve and enhance the different elements of individual homes, where individual details cumulatively contribute to the special character of the area and where the conservation area was particularly vulnerable from small, cumulative changes. .
In the future, where planning applications are submitted for changes to buildings within the conservation area, they will now be required to accord with the principles set out within our document, assisted by the practical; pragmatic and accessible advice provided in the design guide.
