Chase Park, Enfield

Our urbanism team was appointed by the London Borough of Enfield to provide placemaking evidence in relation to the strategic site allocation within Green Belt at Chase Park, which sits adjacent to the Grade II* listed Trent Park. We provided an integrated design approach across urban design, transport and heritage in a team led by Hyas Associates.

Our work included production of a comprehensive baseline assessment and site capacity testing, leading to a Spatial Framework report and masterplan showing how the site could deliver more than 3700 homes, a new primary school, local centre and Country Park. The proposals illustrated how the site could be developed in a way that responds to the historic landscapes of Trent Park and Enfield Chase, and creates a new higher density urban character fronting Enfield Road which makes efficient use of Green Belt land while providing significant areas of new publicly accessible green space.

The work was informed by engagement with Enfield's Design Review Panel, a Developer Forum comprising the site promoters and landowners, and other statutory and Council stakeholders. The work was reflected in the Regulation 19 Local Plan policy for the site which was consulted on during 2024.
