The proposed new town of Gilston includes 10,000 homes north or Harlow, which itself falls within the Harlow & Gilston Garden Town.
We have been associated with the development of Gilston for over 20 years. We were first involved for an Enquiry by Design for the proposed new town in 2004, then as transport advisers to City & Provincial Properties from 2010 to promote their site for allocation in the Local Plan. In 2017 we worked on behalf of the Briggens Estate and later Taylor Wimpey on an outline planning application and detailed masterplan for Village 7, one of seven villages in the Gilston Area.
Gilston Village 7 will be a new neighbourhood with 1,500 homes, a mixed-use village centre and primary school, and generous supporting green infrastructure and leisure space. It will feature a sustainable transport hub at its centre and an extensive movement network prioritising walking, cycling and public transport connections across the Gilston Area and to nearby settlements. The application was granted outline consent in 2023.
