St Pancras International

We have worked for many years at George Gilbert Scott and William Barlow’s masterpiece: the Grade I listed St Pancras Station. We have been aiding its transformation from a semi-derelict blot on Euston Road to one of Europe’s finest railway interchanges and a monument to sensitive conservation and refurbishment.

HS1 Ltd manage the high-speed line across the south-east of England as well as four stations – Ashford, Ebbsfleet, Stratford International and St Pancras International – for the Department for Transport. Since 2019, we have provided advice to HS1 Ltd on the refurbishment and refitting of retail units throughout the station. Each retail neighbourhood within St Pancras presents unique heritage risks. Our role has been to ensure that new tenants maintain HS1’s design principles by designing bespoke retail spaces suitable to the station’s exceptional heritage significance, without frustrating their ability to operate in today’s highly competitive retail environment.

Most recently, our conservation team has provided support on a range of projects relating to the maintenance and upgrading of spaces to meet changing passenger needs.
