The Hippodrome Casino

The Hippodrome Casino

The Hippodrome was constructed as a hybrid variety theatre and circus in 1900, and included a water tank at basement level for performing elephants and polar bears. In the 1950s significant alterations were carried out to the proscenium arch and ground floor level, when it was converted into a variety club. More recently it was used as a nightclub.

Recently, this Grade II listed building has been refurbished as a luxury casino and entertainment centre. We provided structural engineering design services as well as conservation advice for the project.
