University of Westminster - 307-311 Regent Street

We acted as both structural engineers and heritage consultants on the University of Westminster’s principal campus building, which dates from 1896 and is located at the northern end of Regent Street.

The project involved the renewal of the Grade-II* building by upgrading the building’s fabric and structural elements and the introduction of significant sustainability improvements.

Our structural engineers consulted on cracking within the structure of the building and on subsequent repairs to the roof, façade, lighting and front revolving doors. Our heritage team produced a Heritage statement as part of a listed building consent application for the works.

The team included Fulkers Bailey Russell as project manager and building surveyors, Hoare Lea as M&E engineers and Avison Young as planning consultants. The project received planning approval in January 2023 and is due completion in 2024.
