Daniel joined us in 2017 and brings a breadth of experience across complex historic buildings of all scales.
Daniel’s work includes an ongoing relationship with the Grade I listed National Gallery where he has supported the Gallery in undertaking complex refurbishments of support spaces whilst maintaining public access to adjacent Gallery spaces. He recently worked on an alteration to part of a 20th Century extension that will enhance the client’s ability to support education groups and is currently working on a roof envelopment refurbishment of two of their galleries.
Daniel has a keen passion for getting to grips with the history of a building and this was put to good use in his involvement in his work at the V&A, which involved refurbishment of the historic North & South Court roofs.
Elsewhere, Daniel has worked on a number of large country estates in the south of England. He was the principal engineer and lead for our day-to-day input at the Grade II* listed Hoddington House in Hampshire, where the project was split over numerous phases and has included the re-ordering of the main house to allow space for a new wing housing a new swimming pool and subterranean energy centre. Daniel’s rigorous approach to design helped to steer the project to a successful conclusion.
Our successful work at a private house in Wiltshire has also been in no small part to Daniel’s creative approach to dealing with challenging sites, where his work has focused on the Grade II* listed stable-block. This was in a state of partial collapse but, utilising his expertise, a scheme was developed to bring the remains of the structure back to life and suitable for high-end residential use.
