Professional

Lucia has a wide range of experience working on complex refurbishment and new-build projects. Her work on historic buildings includes country estates, and listed churches and barns, whilst her involvement on new-build construction has encompassed new basement structures as well as many estate buildings including stables and garages.

Her engineering experience spans all stages of design and construction, through to delivering projects on site and her role with listed buildings has meant she has needed to build strong working relationships with conservation officers and Historic England advisors giving them confidence in the structural approach required to achieve the client’s desired outcomes on their buildings.

Lucia has led the engineering design in significant parts of our work at a Grade I listed Private Country House. Lucia’s passion for understanding the way in which historic buildings work has allowed her to provide creative and insightful advice on how to sympathetically approach the refurbishment in a way that works with the historic fabric.

At Fairhill House in Kent, Lucia supported the early concept and scheme design for the refurbishment and extension of the listed building. This includes the provision of a new car archive and pool hall sitting on the footprint of modern extensions to the original house did not contribute positively to the overall significance of the property. Her work in particular on the subterranean car garage space was important in supporting the architectural scheme with the roof structure being expressed within the final arrangements.

Lucia’s work on the historic Conholt Park estate where she led the design for a number of the estate buildings including garages, stables and a kitchen for external events.
