Tim joined us in 2024, having studied Civil Engineering with Architecture at the University of Glasgow. He has a keen interest in the repair and restoration of existing historic buildings.
At the Greenhouse Centre in Marylebone, Tim has designed carefully considered structural repairs to the timber trusses and stonework of a former church building now used as a charity sport centre for disadvantaged children.
Tim is also the project engineer for our work at Brown Hart Gardens, where the roof deck of a Victorian electric substation is being re-landscaped. As part of the project, an existing pavilion will be refurbished and extended for a new restaurant.
At Morden College, Tim has worked on the appraisal of structure of the chapel’s organ gallery and the design of the remedial works to address its lean. He then prepared an appraisal of the structure of the clock tower, where remedial works to historic decayed timber columns had been discovered.
A project Tim takes particular pride in is the draping of the Cenotaph in two Union Flags as part of the 80th anniversary of VE day. Here Tim designed a timber framed ‘hat’ atop the stonework to hold the flags in place.
