We worked alongside architects GPAD to advise on the heritage aspects of the refurbishment and extension of this existing building to deliver high quality office space as well as on-site affordable workspace.

The retrofit project involved the retention of the existing concrete structure, with the addition of two new floors and extensions to the lower existing floors, providing a sustainable solution that will result in over eight storeys of floor space. As part of the works, the principal façade will also be replaced with a new elevation that improves the street with a more permeable ground floor.

As the project is situated in close proximity to St. Luke’s Conservation Area, we were asked to review the heritage impact and to assist with discussions with the local planning authority. The plans were granted planning permission in 2021.
