17 Charterhouse Street
17 Charterhouse Street
We provided heritage advice for the extensive redevelopment of a large commercial building within the Charterhouse Square Conservation Area, which lies to the west of Aldersgate Street, extending to the boundary between the City of London and the London Borough of Islington.
The deep retrofit project involved stripping back the existing building to its structural frame before addition an extension, re-configuring the core and re-cladding the building. The completed 200,000 sqft building was entirely let to Anglo American & De Beers as their European head office.
The project was a finalist for the Wellbeing Prize Award at the New London Awards 2023, an award backed by the Mayor of London which showcases outstanding projects within the urban landscape across London.
